43.- Nueva Versión de NX NASTRAN V8.5 (Octubre 2012)

Es un placer dar a conocer que el pasado 29 de Octubre de 2012 se hizo público el lanzamiento al mercado mundial de la nueva versión del “solver” de Análisis por Elementos Finitos NX Nastran V8.5, el cual llega a nuestras manos con importantes novedades y notables mejoras de prestaciones en velocidad de cálculo y tipos de elementos, nuevas disciplinas de análisis y simulación de procesos, así como una lista de corrección de errores. El software está ya disponible para descarga desde el servidor FTP de SIEMENS PLM en la siguiente dirección:

Dynamics …

• Simpler bulk data input to define constant loads, phase, or time delays with real values instead of a table.
• Differential stiffness support for flex bodies.
• Differential stiffness support for external superelements.
• Improved CBUSH dynamic force output to include the component from structural damping.
• WMODAL type damping conversion method supported for flex body damping.
• Residual vectors enhanced to define forces by element labels.
• Support speed dependent bearings for rotor dynamics.
• Support speed dependent speed ratios for rotor dynamics with multiple rotors.
• Support complex modal reduction for rotor dynamics solutions.

Acoustics …

• Separate modal solutions for fluid and structural elements in SOL103 normal modes run. Makes process the same as SOL111.
• New capability to model porous rigid absorbers with frequency dependent properties.
• New capability to output Equivalent Radiated Power.

Elements …

• Axi-symmetric and plane stress/strain elements extended to support X-Y plane.
• Composite solid element accuracy improved by the additions of bubble function and reduced shear integration to relieve locking effect.
• PBEAML and PBARL cross-sectional properties can optionally be calculated using a mesh-based method. It is more accurate for thick walled sections since the current method uses a thin wall thickness assumption.

Superelements …

• Added option to control sparse vs full format for external elements exported to the OP4 file format.

Linear Contact (SOL101) …

• Support contact with inertial relief using the INREL=-1 option.
• Support edge-edge contact for 2D solid elements.
• Simpler edge region definitions with BEDGE card
• Improved memory allocation for contact and glue. Helps when there are large number of glue/contact elements.

Glue Connections …

• Support edge-edge glue for 2D solid elements.
• Support edge-edge glue for shell elements.
• Enhance average stiffness for glue connection for improved accuracy.
• New capability to enable the glue connection locations to be visualized.
• Improved glue formulation for linear shell element faces to give more accurate stiffness behavior.

Advanced NonLinear (SOL601/701) …

• Support RBE3 with different nodal displacement coordinate systems.
• Simpler edge region definitions with BEDGE card.
• Improved messaging for element birth/death definition errors.

Optimization (SOL200) …

• Improved performance of the default optimizer.

Process Improvements …

• Bolt preload supported for bolts represented with CHEXA, CPENTA, or CTETRA elements.
• Reduced formulation times for models with large number of CWELD/CFAST elements.
• New capability to convert f06 file outputs to Excel file format.
• Extended current 8 digit grid/element ID limitation to 11 digits.

Parallel Processing (DMP and SMP) Solutions …

• Improved performance for RDMODES when modal solution has differential stiffness from contact.
• Support use of SMP with the element iterative PCG solver (Pre-Conditioned Gradient solver).

Numerical Performance …

• Additional performance improvement for frequency response solutions with uncoupled structural damping.


La futura nueva versión de FEMAP V11 (que tiene prevista su salida al mercado para finales de este año 2012) traerá ya incluida en el DVD de instalación la nueva versión de NX NASTRAN V8.5, así que mientras tanto los usuarios de FEMAP estaremos “dóblemente” impacientes!!.

    I saw some articles you commented on the net and was wondering if you could explain to me the function of the weld like algorithm and their definitions in NX for surface to surface gluing. We kind of found out what the normal tangential springs are but have totally no idea how the weld like connection works.
    We would be pleased if you would know the answer.
